Bronny James sets up father LeBron in Lakers win
Bronny James Dishes Out Historic Assist to LeBron in Lakers Victory
Bronny James, 19, has shared the court with his father LeBron for two years at the Los Angeles Lakers. In a pivotal moment, he orchestrated the first father-to-son assist in NBA history during the Lakers’ 119-103 win over the Golden State Warriors. Bronny secured possession and passed to LeBron, who raced down the court for an uncontested dunk. This play became a highlight of LeBron’s 26-point performance.
LeBron also tallied 11 assists, while Bronny added 10 points and three assists. The pair’s collaboration was a key factor in the Lakers’ triumph. The Lakers are ranked fourth in the Western Conference, and the Warriors occupy the 10th seed, with both teams already locked into the post-season play-offs starting on 18 April.
Elsewhere, the New York Knicks edged out the Boston Celtics 112-106, with Josh Hart scoring 26 points. This result intensified the Eastern Conference race, as the Knicks and Celtics remain in contention for playoff positions. The Toronto Raptors and Houston Rockets also recorded wins, with the Raptors defeating the Miami Heat 128-114 and the Rockets narrowly topping the Philadelphia 76ers 113-102.
In matches featuring teams already eliminated from playoff contention, the Chicago Bulls triumphed 119-108 over the Washington Wizards, and the Indiana Pacers crushed the Brooklyn Nets 123-94. These victories underscored their final push for the regular season. The WNBA has announced new expansion teams for Cleveland, Detroit, and Philadelphia, set to increase the league to 18 teams by 2030.
Cleveland will debut in 2028, followed by Detroit in 2029 and Philadelphia in 2030. Current expansion franchises include the Golden State Valkyries (2025), Toronto Tempo, and Portland Fire, which are entering the league this year. The 2025 season begins on 8 May and will conclude on 24 September, marking the latest phase of the league’s growth.
