With the UK experiencing a warm spell this week, the summer festival season is fast approaching. Though Glastonbury will be taking a break this year, music lovers still have a packed schedule to anticipate. From large-scale events to intimate gatherings, there’s something for every taste. Whether you prefer camping or comfort, the lineup promises variety and excitement.

Major Festival Highlights

Reading and Leeds Festival returns with a thrilling lineup from 27 to 30 August, featuring six British and Irish headliners. Charli XCX, Chase & Status, Dave, Florence + The Machine, Fontaines D.C., and Raye will take the stage, while Leeds offers a Thursday night exclusive performance by Kasabian.

The Isle of Wight Festival runs from 18 to 21 June, drawing attention with acts like Lewis Capaldi, The Cure, and Teddy Swims. Wet Leg’s local set is expected to become a standout moment. For those seeking a non-camping experience, TRNSMT in Glasgow presents a three-day event from 19 to 21 June, headlined by CMAT, Wolf Alice, and Two Door Cinema Club.

BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend moves to Sunderland between 22 and 24 May, welcoming Olivia Dean, Zara Larsson, and Niall Horan. Meanwhile, Download Festival in the East Midlands will showcase Limp Bizkit, Guns N’ Roses, and Linkin Park from 12 to 14 June, catering to rock and alternative enthusiasts.

Coastal and Urban Venues

Boardmasters in Cornwall will host Fatboy Slim, Lily Allen, and The Kooks from 5 to 9 August, blending coastal charm with music. BST Hyde Park delivers a late June to early July lineup in London, including Maroon 5, Mumford & Sons, and Garth Brooks. All Points East in Victoria Park will feature Jorja Smith, Lorde, and Twenty One Pilots in late August.

Sticking to Manchester, Parklife Festival will see Calvin Harris, Skepta, and Sammy Virji headline Heaton Park on 20 and 21 June. Lovebox returns to Margate, Kent, on 29 and 30 May, with a dance-focused lineup featuring Rudimental, Armand Van Helden, and Groove Armada.

Emerging Festivals

Several new festivals are set to debut this year, adding fresh energy to the scene. Silverworks Island in East London, a popular spot on the River Thames, will host Pendulum, Fisher, and Tiesto in June and July. Labyrinth on the Thames, which gained attention last year, will return with Dom Dolla, Peggy Gou, and Michael Bibi across August dates. State Fayre, a new event for rock, country, and indie fans, is also launching in 2026.

Whether you’re drawn to big stages or smaller, more intimate settings, the 2026 season offers diverse options. From the vibrant energy of Reading and Leeds to the serene beauty of the Isle of Wight, there’s a festival to match every musical preference.
