A woman in her early twenties was subjected to sexual assault by multiple individuals outside a church in Epsom after departing a nightclub in Surrey. The incident occurred between 2:00 and 4:00 BST on Saturday, according to police. Authorities suspect the attack took place near the Epsom Methodist Church on Ashley Road.
“This incident is deeply distressing, and the victim is receiving support from specialized personnel,” said Det Inspector Aine Matthews.
The police have not yet confirmed full descriptions of the perpetrators but are actively investigating to determine their identities and whereabouts. Matthews added that the inquiry is still in its initial phase, with officers striving to quickly gather more information about the suspects and will update the public as soon as possible.
They are seeking individuals who were in the vicinity between 2:00 and 4:00 BST and might have observed or interacted with a woman in her early twenties in a state of distress. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to reach out to the police.
