Murder arrest over Primrose Hill stabbing
A 27-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of Finbar Sullivan in Primrose Hill. The incident occurred on Tuesday, when officers responded to reports of a confrontation at the north London neighborhood. Sullivan, a 21-year-old filmmaking student, was found critically injured at the scene and later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, a second man in his 20s was also discovered with stab wounds near Regent’s Park Road. His condition is described as non-life-threatening, with injuries not expected to result in long-term harm. The Metropolitan Police announced that a 25-year-old man had been arrested for allegedly assisting the offender. Both suspects were held on Friday and remain in custody.
“My thoughts are with Finbar’s family, who are receiving ongoing support from specialized officers during this incredibly challenging period,” said Det Insp Andy Griffin. “Despite the two arrests, my team is working tirelessly to identify all those involved in the incident.”
Griffin also expressed gratitude towards members of the public who have already provided information and urged anyone with additional details or video footage from the area on the day of the attack to reach out. “In the meantime, residents should anticipate a heightened police presence as local officers continue to conduct routine patrols across Primrose Hill and nearby districts,” he concluded.
