Dan Walker to appear at tribunal as ex co-host brings bullying claim
Dan Walker Set for Employment Tribunal Over Bullying Allegations
TV personality Dan Walker will face a tribunal as a former co-host on Channel 5 News files a claim alleging workplace bullying. Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije, who previously hosted BBC Breakfast, is listed as the plaintiff in the case, with her legal representative confirming that both ITN and Paramount, the parent company of Channel 5, are named as defendants.
According to The Mail on Sunday, the allegations include accusations of sexist and misogynistic behavior. An ITN spokesperson has stated that the claim is being “fully denied,” while Walker and Paramount await their turn to comment. The publication also cited a source claiming Walker disputes the allegations and has compiled over 50 testimonies from colleagues supporting his defense.
Earlier investigations into Vanderpuije’s claims against Walker did not uncover any evidence of misconduct. The trial is scheduled to commence in London on 20 April and is expected to last for five weeks. Vanderpuije and Walker co-hosted the channel in 2022 before her departure in 2024. ITN’s CEO, Rachel Corp, is also included in the list of respondents.
“This claim, which is denied in full, will be addressed through the tribunal process,” said an ITN spokesperson.
