Trump issues expletive-laden threat to Iran over Hormuz Strait blockage
Trump Issues Filled-with-Profanity Ultimatum to Iran Over Hormuz Strait Closure
Following the recent downing of a US fighter jet, President Donald Trump escalated tensions with Iran by posting a provocative message on his social media platform. The statement, laden with strong language, warned of potential destruction of Iran’s power infrastructure and bridges unless the country reopened the Strait of Hormuz to unrestricted shipping by Tuesday. The leader reiterated a prior promise of “unleashing hell” but hinted at optimism, stating there was a “good chance” of a diplomatic resolution with Tehran.
In the aftermath of the F-15 incident, both the pilot and a second crew member ejected from the aircraft. While the pilot was swiftly retrieved, the second serviceman remained in a remote area of southwestern Iran. The rescue mission, conducted deep within contested territory, underscored the urgency of the situation. Iran, however, dismissed Trump’s ultimatum as “helpless, nervous, and stupid,” with its military officials echoing the sentiment.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP”
Earlier in the week, Trump had set a deadline for Iran to restore shipping access to the strategic strait, which had been blocked for over a month. The closure, which disrupted global oil flow, had already caused a spike in prices and raised inflation concerns worldwide. The president later extended the deadline to Tuesday, 6 April, at 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time, signaling a shift in the timeline of negotiations.
Iran’s actions were part of a broader pattern of retaliation against US and Israeli airstrikes. The latest strike targeted a petrochemical facility on Saturday, while the Qasem Soleimani international airport in southwestern Iran was hit on Sunday. Meanwhile, Israel prepared to strike additional energy sites, with officials awaiting US approval for further attacks. The conflict has seen Iran launching drones and missiles at Israeli and Gulf allies, including a direct hit on a Haifa residential building that injured four people.
Abu Dhabi also reported fires at a petrochemical facility after debris from an Iranian missile struck the area. Kuwait noted similar damage to its oil infrastructure from drone strikes, while Bahrain faced attacks on industrial and fuel plants. The ongoing hostilities have intensified fears of a prolonged crisis, with both sides vying for strategic advantage in the region.
