Two More Murder Arrests Following Boy’s Fatal Shooting
A 14-year-old boy was fatally shot in Woolwich, south-east London, prompting additional arrests in a murder investigation. Eghosa Ogbebor succumbed to his injuries at the scene after the incident on Lord Warwick Street occurred around 15:40 BST on Thursday.
The Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man on Saturday, along with a 46-year-old man charged with aiding an offender. Earlier, three individuals—two teenagers aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man—were taken into custody on Friday but later released on bail.
“Our detectives are actively pursuing leads to determine the circumstances of Eghosa’s death,” said Det Ch Insp Lucie Card, who leads the inquiry. “Residents may have seen increased police activity in Woolwich, as officers detained three more suspects linked to the case.” She added, “We understand the community’s worries and will maintain a visible presence to reassure locals during this time.” The officer encouraged anyone with relevant information to reach out to authorities.
