EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Diana dress designer’s companies both go bust

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Diana’s Wedding Dress Designer Faces Financial Collapse

In 1981, as Lady Diana Spencer exchanged vows with Prince Charles at St Paul’s Cathedral, the ivory silk taffeta and lace gown crafted by David Emanuel and his wife Elizabeth captured global attention. An estimated 750 million viewers watched the ceremony on television, cementing the design’s iconic status.

Yet the dress, famed for its 25-foot train, has not secured lasting prosperity for Emanuel. Recent filings reveal that both of his businesses have collapsed, accumulating nearly £300,000 in debt. Licensed to Design, founded in 2002, owes £280,000, while Renaissance Man, established in 2018, carries £20,000 in liabilities. The Welsh designer, 73, has submitted Statements of Affairs to liquidators, listing assets totaling £164,000 as uncertain and no cash for creditors.

Liabilities include £72,000 in corporation tax debt to HMRC, £103,000 to NatWest Bank, and £33,000 to Ovo Energy. Fixtures and fittings are valued at £96,000, while directors’ loans of £60,000 remain unresolved. Emanuel and his daughter Eloise are among the creditors, with £44,438 and £5,000 respectively owed.

In 2024, David Emanuel lost a High Court battle against Elizabeth, claiming she violated his copyright by replicating designs they co-created and selling them without his approval. His spokesperson declined to comment.

Entrepreneur’s New Chapter After Miscarriage

Grace Beverley, 29, has revealed her emotional journey following a miscarriage last autumn, describing the experience as heart-wrenching. Now, the founder of Tala and Shreddy, a fitness app, is sharing her happiness after becoming pregnant again. This will be her first child with husband Amar Daved, 39, whom she married in a three-day celebration in France last summer.

“Both of us are more stressed than excited because we lost our last pregnancy,” Grace admitted. “The excitement mixed with the anxiety of knowing you can’t go through that pain again so soon.”

Beverley, an Oxford graduate, previously served as head chorister at Salisbury Cathedral. She recently posted on Instagram, announcing her pregnancy and inviting fans to ask questions.

Unexpected Injury During Playtime

Strictly Come Dancing star Erin Boag recounted a terrifying incident involving her 11-year-old son, Ewan, who sustained a severe injury during a game with friends. “When I say severed, I mean severed,” the 50-year-old ballroom dancer explained.

Ewan was taken to Kingston’s local hospital before being transferred to St George’s for specialized plastic surgery. The procedure successfully preserved his finger, allowing him to return to sport and piano playing. Boag shared a video online, thanking medical staff and expressing gratitude for the NHS’s role in the recovery.

Medieval Celebration for Tali Lennox

Model and artist Tali Lennox marked her 33rd birthday in a dramatic medieval ensemble, featuring a brown pagan-style dress, a gothic circlet, and a vintage pendant. The look, which mirrored her mother Annie Lennox’s bold fashion choices, was completed with thick braided hair.

Tali, daughter of film producer Uri Fruchtmann, has often spoken of her eclectic style. “I like to be eclectic,” she remarked before, embracing a mix of historical and contemporary influences.

Paloma Faith on Liberal Left and Nigel Farage

Pop star Paloma Faith suggested that metropolitan Lefties, including herself, should reconsider supporting Nigel Farage’s Reform UK supporters. “I do think that the liberal Left, which I am sort of part of, have this habit of dismissing people who don’t agree with them,” she said during a podcast interview with Green Party leader Zack Polanski.

Faith argued that such attitudes might hinder broader political appeal. “I don’t think that’s how we’re going to win,” she added, emphasizing the need for inclusivity in political movements.
